Styling & Outfits

The Challenge: In-person studio time is limited and expensive, and thus it can be difficult to conceptualize and execute new style ideas without negatively impacting the wider production process.

The Solution: A styling tool that allows for the endless transformation of clothing on photorealistic avatars, all utilizing advanced processing methods that only need a single flat image of a garment to function.

Sometimes, you need to validate what's in your head, by seeing it. The closer to reality it is, the more you can trust your ideas. The easier it is to get that high-quality view, the quicker you can iterate your concepts… and the more iterations, the better the outcome.

Our styling tool allows you to place and adjust multiple layers of clothing on photorealistic avatars, at lightning speed. All you need is a traditional flat-lay image of the garment, and we will do the rest.

Since what we are doing is not just a fun “change the logo on the t-shirt” solution, we have had to dig deep into current and emerging technologies. This allows us to offer solutions that give you all the flexibility you need to do your pre-styling.

Layered clothing

T-shirt, then shirt, then jacket…. You can add layers along the way, making it possible to create the full style. To do this, we use extensive masking, deformations, and cyclical image processing methods. So in the machine room, we are actually procesisng each piece of garment and dressing the avatar from the inside out.

Opened or closed? Roll up those sleeves.

Using some of the latest methods for Sparce Correspondance Alignment, working with creases and tension maps in a 2.5D space, and leveraging ST map extraction, we can actually roll up those sleeves… tuck in that shirt… open the jacket, and do whatever else we need to do to complete your style.

Once you’re done, the styles can easily be transferred to other avatars and edited again if you decide you need another variation.
